I’ve done it! Twenty-four days of Advent, and twenty-four little ornaments made, one for each day. And I finished today’s early enough to photograph it, so I can write my final Advent blogpost today 😀
Yesterday I got this beautiful yarn, green-flecked on white. I decided to make this adorable little pair of mittens, because I’ve been hoping for a suitable yarn for this pattern! It’s Better Homes and Gardens’ Mitten Gift Topper, which is a very straightforward and quick little pattern, worked mostly flat and partly in the round. They’re just so cute.
Today I got this gorgeous turquoise and orange-y striped yarn. I knew I wanted to make something quite quick today, because I wanted to photograph it today and make the living room nice and tidy for tomorrow (aka, put the yarn away, Catherine…), so I went with Lucy of Attic24’s wonderful Star Decoration. Simple, quick, and I love how the striped yarn sort of but not quite works up with a swirl.
And that’s it! Ready for Christmas. The tree is decorated:
The cake is decorated (my work – I love decorating the cake every year):
And since I’m not doing the cooking tomorrow, I can happily have a glass of wine, an early night, and a lie-in tomorrow.
Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate it. I hope your day is filled with love, laughter and joy.
