As promised, here is my post-Christmas ‘ta da!’ post, filled with pictures of everything I’ve been busily working on over the past few months!
Mostly it’s been hats, scarves and fingerless gloves – quick projects that mostly use a single skein of yarn, or less. Stashbusting, as you all know, has been a Major Goal of mine recently, and beautiful gifts to give people has merely been a nice side effect of that π
Let’s start with the hats:
Yenni Slouch hat by Little Monkeys Crochet. Made using Stylecraft Tweedy in ‘Moss’, with a 4.5mm hook.Herringbone Slouch hat by Little Monkeys Crochet. Made using Stylecraft Life Changes in ‘Ocean’, with a 5mm hook.…and another Herringbone Slouch, this time in Stylecraft Life Changes in ‘Berries’, with a 5mm hook. Without a pompom this time!Snowcapped Slouch hat by Little Monkeys Crochet. Worked in Stylecraft Life Heritage in ‘Autumn Leaves’, with a 5.5mm hook.Snowdrift Slouch hat by Little Monkeys Crochet, worked in Stylecraft Life Heritage in ‘Heathland’, with a 5.5mm hook. And finally, Easy Ridges Thick Hat by Stacy Clement-Kazimir, worked in Stylecraft Cosy in ‘Frost’, with a 6.5mm hook.
A fine collection of hats, if I do say so myself! And so on to the fingerless gloves:
Puffed Stitch Fingerless gloves, by Hooked by Robin, worked in Stylecraft Head Over Heels in ‘Ben Nevis’, with a 4.5mm hookFingerless Gloves by Maaike van Koert, worked in Stylecraft Head Over Heels in ‘Ben Nevis’, with a 3mm hook. These turned out rather small, so I then went on to….…another pair with a longer starting chain. This time I made them in Stylecraft Head Over Heels Boho in ‘Neva’, with a 3mm hook.
I do love fingerless gloves π and doing them in 4 ply/sock yarn means they’re warm but not too thick and cumbersome.
Then I made a couple of scarves, because who doesn’t like a scarf?
Button It Up scarf by Diana Burk, worked in Stylecraft Cosy in ‘Dusk’ with a 12mm hook.Hephaistos by Silke Terhorst, worked in Stylecraft Tweedy in ‘Heather’ and Stylecraft Life DK in ‘Black Nepp’, with a 5mm hook.
And my final Christmas present was this cushion, which I worked up in two days flat and gave to my brother. It’s in Stylecraft Cosy, one side in ‘Midnight’ and one in ‘Glacier’. I used a 10mm hook and worked it up in single crochet. Sometimes it’s nice to let the yarn do all the work π
Phew. I was busy! And used up quite a lot of stash, which I’m very pleased with. I feel like I’m heading into 2019 with a clean slate. Mostly. I mean, okay, I got a lot of yarn for Christmas, but that totally doesn’t count, yes?
