Surprise!

Hello all,

I have some happy news to share with you.

I’ve waited quite a long time to tell you, and when I say it’s because I wanted to get to the 20 week anomaly scan, you’ll probably understand why.

Yes, I tried again. I had another round of IVF, and I’m pregnant. And the baby has passed their anomaly scan with flying colours! Perfect heart, perfect stomach and diaphragm and spinal and skull and everything. One healthy, happy, wriggly little baby girl, growing rapidly and already beginning to make herself felt with little pokes and prods.

I’ve spent most of the past 13 weeks or so (since pregnancy test) being apprehensive and cautious, trying not to be too happy or excited because of what happened last year with Matty. Now I’m through my personal danger point, I can’t tell you how relieved and overjoyed I am. A happy, healthy baby who will be born in about twenty weeks time (give or take!). I can start planning, I can start having hopes and expectations and wishes – I can be happy 😀

I have also been crocheting, of course, despite the weeks of anxiety that thankfully culminated in this happy news. I’m about halfway through my current blanket design, and I’m very much enjoying myself frolicking among all these cables. No sneak peek of that today for you, but I promise to bring you an update sooner rather than later. My lovely testers are working their way through it too, and I’m even attempting to make charts for you all – though how successful these will be, I cannot say!

Take care, all 😀

xxx

Catherine
