Welcome to part 10 of the Kaleidoscope CAL!
The final shape to make is the octagon, which are the largest individual motifs in the blanket. None of the stitches here are new to you, so you should find this relatively straight forward.
You need to make nine of these, all in the same colour combination.
The pdf download for this part includes details of the colours and stitches you’ll be using for this section, as well as my little tutorial on how to change colours.
You can download part 10 from Ravelry here.
It’s available in English (US and UK terms), Dutch, French and Persian (German and Arabic to follow). There is also a chart available to download. The video tutorials are available here on Trisha McKibbon’s Youtube channel.
Don’t forget that the best and fastest place to get help and advice with the CAL is the Facebook group, which you can find here.
Part 11 will be released in two weeks’ time, on the 22nd of May.
Enjoy!
Please be aware that although this pattern has been thoroughly tested, we are only human, and it’s possible we’ve missed something.
Therefore, any errata that come to light will be listed below, with the date of discovery, and the pattern documents will be corrected as necessary.
14th May – there were two errors in the UK terms (row 10 used ‘sc’ instead of ‘dc’ in the note, and in the latter parts of the pattern ‘violet’ was used instead of ‘colour E’). These have now been corrected and an amended version uploaded to Ravelry.
23rd May – there was an error in the French translation on row five. This has now been corrected, and an amended version uploaded to Ravelry.
14th June – there was an error in row 12 of the pattern (one instruction said to work in front of the ch1 from round eleven, but it should have said to work in front of the ch2 from round eleven). This has now been corrected in all languages, and amended versions uploaded to Ravelry.
My Ravelry Library only has parts 1-7 of the pattern. I do not see parts 8, 9, 10. Ravelry is not asking me to update the pattern. Is this a Ravelry glitch?

The other parts are definitely there. Have you tried going to the pattern page and manually downloading the parts you need?

There is an error in the video tutorial; on Row 4 the hdc were accidentally replaced with sc.

Hiya,
Yes, we’ve picked up on that, and Trisha put a caption on the video at the relevant point to clarify her mistake. Thank you 🙂

Also, on the US term pattern, it says “work a popcorn into the
second of three skipped sc from round ten (working in front of the ch1 from round eleven)”, but should it be ch2 instead?

You’re quite right; thank you for pointing that out. I’ll get amended documents up to Ravelry shortly.
