Hello all, and welcome to the introductory part of this CAL – otherwise known as Part 00 🙂
This beginning section is a really a bit of a compilation of my previous posts looking closely at each of the three colourways, but it also has full yarn details (including precise weights of yarn used for each colour of each blanket), a full gauge swatch for you, and details of stitches that you’ll be using throughout the pattern.
It’s an ideal moment to check your gauge and to familiarise yourself with any stitches that you might not have used much or at all before. This includes things like foundation double crochet (though a chain is fine as well), stacked double crochets, and extended double crochets. If you’ve not used these stitches before, don’t worry – there are explanations in the pattern and pictures to help.

Your admins/mods are me and Jill Fredrikson, and I’ll take this opportunity to remind you that we’re here to help, but may not always be able to respond straight away! Please be patient, and help each other out if you can.
Each pattern document will be published on Ravelry. The pattern is in US terms only, with pictures and stitch diagrams included.
The files will be uploaded by 12.30pm (that’s half past midday!) every fortnight on Mondays, beginning from 27th Jan. If I’m occasionally a little late, please forgive me – I have a five-month-old baby interfering 😀
